I'm involved with a few projects that promote inter-disciplinary connections across campus:
1. The second Genesee Workshop (May 2016) brought together a group of faculty to explore issues of sustainability and how they can incorporate sustainability into their curriculum. The workshop started with a presentation and discussion by Peggy Barlett one of the pioneers of sustainability courses at higher education institutions. Interactive activities and workshops allowed current and previous participants to discuss what has worked and not worked in their courses and strategies to implement in Fall 2016.
2. A cultural humility training for undergraduate students participating in a community engaged course for Fall 2016.
3. Developing training modules for students and faculty to prepare them for community engaged experiences and help them form constructive long-term relationship with community partners.
